I might be missing something, but I still don't understand why all this
GEM code is necessary. I quickly compared with the CMA helpers and the
only meaningful difference is the use of the GFP_DMA flag.

Rather than duplicating the CMA code, it's better to change the CMA
helpers to provide a way of setting this flag.
