SubjectRe: [PATCH v2 4/5] media: imx-jpeg: Add V4L2 driver for i.MX8 JPEG Encoder/Decoder
From
Date
Hi Mirela,

Can you add a sixth patch adding an entry for this driver to the MAINTAINERS
file? Don't forget to reference the bindings document as well.

Philipp, do you think this driver should use the jpeg helpers? Should I
wait for the v2 of the helpers and then Mirela can make a v3 that uses
the helpers?

More comments on this driver below:

This is all terribly formatted.

1) add space after/before { and }
2) use lowercase a-f in the hex values (kernel coding style)
3) properly indent the data, e.g.:

static const unsigned char jpeg_sos_maximal[] = {
0xff, 0xda, 0x00, 0x0c, 0x04, 0x01, 0x00, 0x02,
0x11, 0x03, 0x11, 0x04, 0x11, 0x00, 0x3f, 0x00,
};

static const unsigned char jpeg_eoi[] = { 0xff, 0xd9 };

Lowercase hex values (I won't repeat myself, please check the source for this).

Is all this debugging really needed? It feels to be that this does not
belong in a kernel driver, it's more something you do while developing
the driver, but not for a final version.

Don't fill in the description, this is filled in by the V4L2 core (v4l2-ioctl.c).
