Yeah, I know that.
As I said in my reply to Alexey before: I
thought you were saying the whole right
side of the disjunction was not needed.

I also do like the explicit recast and
followed what all of the other kstr*()
functions are doing.
Alexey sent a fix for all of them just
a few hours ago [1] which - imho - is
really not necessary. There's no harm
done by this and it's a fairly widely used
pattern.

That being said, happy to remove the
second explicit cast.
